About the Author
Kim Poinsett-Holmes, MA, PharmD
Kim Poinsett-Holmes is the founder of Poinsett Publications, Inc and the author of A Fitzgerald Genealogy in the American South. With more than three decades of professional experience as a medical writer and editor, she has published dozens of manuscripts in scientific and medical journals, working with leading organizations in healthcare and research.
Her expertise in research and documentation, combined with her passion for genealogy, led her to undertake the challenge of tracing her own family’s story across fifteen generations. The result is a book that blends accuracy with narrative, honoring not just her ancestors but also the broader history of the American South.
A Lifelong Passion for Storytelling
Kim’s professional career in pharmaceutical research and writing demanded meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to truth — skills that translated naturally into genealogy. Over the years, she has dedicated countless hours to archival research, oral histories, and preserving family records, ensuring that the Fitzgerald legacy is recorded for generations to come.
Beyond Publishing
When she isn’t writing, Kim enjoys exploring local history, supporting community projects, and continuing her own family history research. She believes that every family has a story worth telling and is dedicated to helping preserve those stories through future Poinsett Publications, Inc projects.
